Platts clarifies USWC SAF Credit Value methodology

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, would like to clarify the methodology underlying the US West Coast Sustainable Aviation Fuel Credit Value (AUSWF00).

As of Aug. 10, 2026, the USWC SAF Credit Price reflects the applicable US SAF credit stack, including the federal Clean Fuel Production Credit tax credit, Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) and California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits.

For the calculation of the applicable credits, Platts considers a carbon intensity of 22 grams of CO2 equivalent/megajoule for SAF.

Platts has backfilled the USWC SAF Credit Price calculations to Aug. 10, 2026, to reflect the clarified methodology.

USWC SAF Credit Value has been factoring in the US federal Sustainable Aviation Tax credit from Aug. 16, 2024, to Aug. 7, 2026.
