Platts includes Nalco lubricity improver EC5727A in Singapore gasoil

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has added diesel lubricity improver EC5727A by Nalco to the list of recognized additives reflected in its FOB Singapore gasoil assessment process, effective Aug. 20, 2026.

The inclusion follows a review of recognized additives reflected in the FOB Singapore gasoil assessment process. Platts informed the market of the inclusion of the gasoil additive in a subscriber note published July 22, 2026, having first proposed the inclusion in a subscriber note published March 13, 2025.

Platts understands the additive has broad market acceptance and/or has been consumed in the region, and is reflected in the key regional national chemical inventory.

The list of Platts-recognized gasoil additives is intended to provide clarity to market participants regarding which additives are generally considered merchantable and accepted for cargoes delivered through the Platts Market on Close assessment process in Singapore.

Platts does not align its FOB Singapore additive acceptance standards with those of any particular importing country.
