Platts proposes to launch B100 Advanced FAME delivered Rotterdam biobunker assessment Oct. 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to launch a new daily B100 Advanced FAME delivered Rotterdam biobunker assessment, effective Oct. 1, 2026.

Platts understands that demand for marine fuels offering higher greenhouse gas emissions savings has increased in response to FuelEU Maritime and shipping's inclusion in the EU ETS. These regulatory developments have driven greater interest in fuels with enhanced compliance value, including B100 Advanced FAME.

The proposed assessment would reflect neat Advanced FAME produced from feedstocks listed in Annex IX Part A of the Renewable Energy Directive and meeting EN 14214 specifications. Biofuels eligible for inclusion would be required to hold proof of sustainability issued under voluntary schemes approved by the European Commission, qualify as Advanced under Dutch regulations, and achieve a minimum greenhouse gas emissions saving of 80% based on the European Commission's Renewable Energy Directive framework.

The new assessment would reflect biobunker stems, 5-15 days forward, with volumes ranging from 200 metric tons to 1,000 metric tons on a delivered Rotterdam basis. Prices would be inclusive of barging and associated costs for delivery into the receiving ship and expressed in US dollars/mt.

The proposed assessment specifications are as follows:

Assessment Pricing basis Contract basis Delivery period Volume
B100 Biobunkers Advanced FAME Rotterdam Outright Delivered 5-15 days forward 200-1,000 mt

Platts may consider bids, offers, and trades for other delivery periods, volumes, delivery methods, and nearby locations and normalize them to the above specifications.

The published assessment would reflect any discounts applied by suppliers based on the value of Emission Reduction Units (EREs).

The assessments would consider information reported to Platts and published as heards throughout the day, including firm bids and offers, trades, and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process. The daily assessments would reflect a 16:30 London time market close and will follow the Platts UK publishing schedule.

The assessments would be published in Platts Biofuels Alert, the Bunkerwire Report, Bunkerwire Monthly, Biofuelscan Report, and Biomass-Based Diesel Report, as well as on Energy Core and on fixed pages PBF0008 and PBF0009.
