Platts updates SAF ETJ tariffs application, effective July 30

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has updated the sustainable aviation fuel ethanol-to-jet cost of production tariffs application, effective July 30, 2026.

After the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) concluded the Section 301 Action in Response to the Failure of 60 Economies to Ban Imports Produced with Forced Labor by imposing an additional 12.5% tariff on certain imports from Brazil, including ethanol, Platts has updated the cost of production prices for SAF ETJ that incorporate imported Brazilian ethanol from 25% tariff to 37.5% tariff.

If there are any changes to these tariffs, Platts will update the value of Brazilian ethanol accordingly and inform the market by publishing additional subscriber notes.

This applies to the following ETJ cost of production prices and their monthly averages:

• SAF ETJ Cost of production w/ credits USGC ¢/gal (ESTFE00, ESTFE03)
• SAF ETJ Cost of production w/ credits USGC $/mt (ESTFG00, ESTFG03)
• SAF ETJ Cost of production w/o credits USGC ¢/gal (ESTFF00, ESTFF03)
• SAF ETJ Cost of production w/o credits USGC $/mt (ESTFH00, ESTFH03)
