Platts proposes to update specifications of its granular MOP CFR Brazil assessment, Sept. 15

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to update the specifications of its CFR Brazil granular muriate of potash (MOP) price assessment (FKCIT04), effective Sept. 15, 2026.

The proposed amendments are intended to better reflect potash market dynamics in Brazil.

The proposed updates to the specifications of the weekly assessment are as follows:

Discharging ports: All ports in Brazil.

Where no granular grade MOP sales have been confirmed, Platts will use the known standard MOP price and apply the prevailing price differential where appropriate.

Timing: Product to be shipped up to 30 days forward Delivered 20-45 days forward from day of publication

In addition, this proposal includes the introduction of a new "close" value, along with low and high values published at a standardized to minus $1/st, plus $1/st below and above the assessed close value, respectively.

These assessments are currently published on Energy Core, in the Platts Fertecon Potash Market Report and on the fixed page FEA0101. The price is assessed on Tuesdays at 1630 São Paulo time and follows the São Paulo publishing schedule.
