Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch a Platts Editorial Window, or eWindow, communication tool for the Platts renewable diesel (HVO) FOB FARAG barge instruments, effective Sept. 1, 2026.
The eWindow instruments will reflect RD-A and RD-B in line with Platts methodology, denoting renewable diesel volumes derived from Annex IX-A and Annex IX-B of the European Commission's Renewable Energy Directive.
Full details on Platts renewable diesel assessments can be found in the Global Biofuels specifications guide.
The new instruments will appear on eWindow as follows:
Participants can submit bids and offers for publication either directly through the eWindow communication tool or via a price reporter.
Bids and offers can be submitted as a differential to the Platts ULSD 10ppmS FOB ARA barge benchmark assessment (AAJUS00), or as an outright price in $/mt. Additionally, participants have the option to submit bids and offers as a differential to the front- or second-month ICE low sulfur gasoil futures contract.
Platts has established clearly defined timing and increment guidelines that apply when publishing bids and offers in the MOC to ensure an orderly and transparent price assessment process.
Participants will be allowed to improve bids and offers by a minimum of US$0.25 and a maximum of US$1.00 per 20 seconds, or per one minute if done via an editor .
| Product | Outright or spread | Environment | Vol. min. | Vol. max. | Bids/offers due for window entry | Repeatability | Min. price increment | Max. price increment | Frequency |
| RD-A | Outright | eWindow | 1kt | 1kt | 4:05:00:99 | Within 45 seconds | US$0.25 | US$1.00 | Per 20 seconds |
| RD-A Premium | Spread | eWindow | 1kt | 1kt | 4:05:00:99 | Within 45 seconds | US$0.25 | US$1.00 | Per 20 seconds |
| RD-B | Outright | eWindow | 1kt | 1kt | 4:05:00:99 | Within 45 seconds | US$0.25 | US$1.00 | Per 20 seconds |
| RD-B Premium | Spread | eWindow | 1kt | 1kt | 4:05:00:99 | Within 45 seconds | US$0.25 | US$1.00 | Per 20 seconds |
Please refer to the Platts methodology and specifications guide on biofuels timing and increment guidelines here .
An extension of one minute will be triggered by any price changes or a rebid or reoffer in the last 20 seconds before the close at 16.30.00.999 London time.
The assessments reflect a laycan of 3 to 15 days forward (Monday to Tuesday) or five to 15 days forward (Wednesday to Friday).
Platts will reflect bids, offers and trades that are for the front end (first five days of the assessed period), middle window (middle five days of the assessed period) and back end (last five days of the assessed period).
Entities interested in participating in the Platts Market on Close assessment process can submit their request via this form: MOC Participation Review Request | S&P Global
