July 22, 2026
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has updated the SAF ETJ cost of production tariffs application, effective July 22, 2026.
After the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) concluded its Section 301 Investigation of Brazil's Unreasonable Acts, Policies and Practices by imposing a 25% tariff on certain imports from Brazil, including ethanol, Platts has updated the cost of production prices for SAF ETJ that incorporate imported Brazilian ethanol from 10% tariff to 25% tariff.
If there are any changes to these tariffs, Platts will update the value of Brazilian ethanol accordingly and inform the market by publishing additional subscriber notes.
This applies to the following ETJ cost of production prices and their monthly averages:
Platts publishes the ETJ cost of production prices in Platts Connect, Biofuelscan, Biomass-Based Diesel Report, US Marketscan, Oilgram Price Report and fixed pages PB010, PB012, PB1011, PB1015, PRF450, PRF480, PRF483, PRF158 and PRF451.
Please submit any feedback, comments or questions about this note to platts_biofuels@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing. Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
