Platts proposes to launch weekly CIF Turkey ABS spot assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to launch a weekly CIF Turkey spot assessment for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) effective Sept. 16, 2026.

The proposed assessment would complement Platts' existing global ABS coverage and provide additional transparency to the Turkish market.

Details of the proposed assessment's specifications would be as follows:

Description Turkish ABS general purpose injection molding grade
Quality Specification Melt flow index (MFI) 10.0-40.0g/10 minutes tested at 220 degrees Celsius
Basis and location CIF Turkey, basis Istanbul
Size 100-300 mt
Laycan Delivery 15-45 days forward from the date of publication
UOM $/mt

The new CIF Turkey assessments would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process each Wednesday at 4:30 pm London time, and would follow the London publishing schedule.

The Turkish ABS market would be covered in the existing European commentary and rationale, published on PCA0792 and PCA0793, which would be renamed European and Turkish ABS.

The proposed assessment would appear on S&P Global Energy Core, Polymerscan and on Petrochemical Alert fixed page 0329.
