Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to increase the frequency of its Calcined Pet Coke FOB US Gulf assessment to weekly from the current monthly frequency, effective Jan 2, 2027.
The existing monthly symbol (MMXEV00) would change from a spot assessment to being based off the average of each weekly assessment for the month.
Platts has observed more liquidity throughout the month and the move to weekly frequency would better reflect the most current spot market conditions.
The assessment, which is currently published on the last business day of the month at midday ET, would be published on Fridays, with a 4:30 pm ET timestamp. The monthly average price would publish following the last weekly publication of the month. In the event of a public holiday, the price assessment would be brought forward one day.
Platts US CPC assessment is published in Platts Metals Daily, on S&P Global Energy Core, on Platts Metals Alert fixed page 055, and in the Platts pricing database.
Platts invites feedback on this proposal through July 31, 2026.
