Platts clarifies styrene monomer, mixed xylene, toluene China inventory assessment methodology

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, would like to clarify the methodology governing its inventory assessments in China for styrene monomer, mixed xylene and toluene.

Timing: All inventory assessments reflect commercial stock levels at 4:30 pm SGT on Fridays. The assessments take into consideration market information gathered and surveyed from market participants.

Location basis:

  • East China: inventory assessments in this region reflect locations in Jiangsu Province, including Changzhou, Changshu, Nantong, Zhangjiagang and Jiangyin.
  • South China: inventory assessments in this region reflect locations in Guangdong Province, mainly Dongguan.

UOM: Inventory assessments are reflected in metric tons.
