Platts proposes to launch four new DDP US Northeast Shrimp assessments and amend incoterm for existing assessment, effective Sep. 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to launch four new daily DDP US Northeast Shrimp price assessments and amend the current PDTO CIF New York shrimp assessment, effective Sept. 1, 2026.

The proposed launch and amendments reflect sustained import demand and active spot trading in the US Northeast region, alongside market feedback that requests more transparent and clearly defined DDP price references, to support contract negotiations and market analysis.

The new assessments and their specifications would be as follows:

The proposal also includes amending the current PDTO Shrimp CIF US assessment to DDP US Northeast, as per market feedback Platts understands the typical trading Incoterm used for shrimp in the US market is DDP. For the unit of measurement, a US dollars per lb assessment will also be added:

All new and existing assessments would reflect a 13:30 Houston timestamp and follow the Platts US publishing schedule.

The assessments would consider market information reported to Platts and published as heards throughout the day, including firm bids and offers, trades, indicative values and any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
