To keep pace with an evolving market, Platts proposes refocusing its Spanish power assessments by concentrating on contract periods with higher liquidity. Platts invites feedback by June 24 on a proposal to launch a daily assessment of weekend baseload power. At the same time Platts also proposes to discontinue existing daily assessments of the less liquid balance-of-month and balance-of-year contracts. The changes would take effect from October 1, 2013.
