Platts to update the carbon intensity for US SAF assessments effective June 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will modify the carbon intensity (CI) for the US sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) price assessments, effective June, 1 2026.

Market feedback indicated that the current CI for the SAF US assessments was higher than the typical market CI.

As a result, Platts will update the CI for its US SAF assessments to 22 gCO2/MJ from 42 gCO2/MJ .

The assessments and their associated monthly averages affected are as follows:
