Platts Launches US Natural Gas Same-Day Indices

Platts, a part of S&P Global Energy, has begun publishing US natural gas same-day indices for all Platts locations, effective May 11, 2026.

This launch helps bring transparency to the Same Day natural gas market, and complements Platts' existing Day-Ahead and Month-Ahead natural gas coverage in the US.

Platts will publish volume-weighted average indices for the ID1, ID2, and ID3 intraday nomination cycles, as well as an average price for the three cycles. The indices are comprised of only Intercontinental Exchange trades. No price submitter trades will be included at this time. The indices are published on the next business day and will be published for each calendar day.

The indices are available to Americas Gas and Power subscribers and will be published in market data category GD, a price table in the Gas Daily and Energy Trader publications, and fixed page numbers AGP0011 and PGN0011 for the ID1 cycle, AGP0012 and PGN0022 for the ID2 cycle, AGP00013 and PGN0023 for the ID3 cycle, and AGP0014and PGN0024 for the daily average.
