Platts launches CIF Middle East poultry price assessments May 1
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched three new daily CIF Middle East poultry price assessments, effective May 1, 2026.
The assessments expand Platts' existing poultry coverage and complement the current Chicken Breast CIF Jebel Ali assessment, providing broader visibility across key product categories that are actively traded into the Middle East.
The launch follows earlier subscriber notes proposing and confirming the assessments on March 2, as well as a subsequent postponement due to vessel transit disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz on March 23. Market conditions have since evolved, with improved routing visibility and continued demand for transparent CIF pricing benchmarks supporting their introduction.
The assessments reflect the following specifications:

The assessments are based on bids, offers, trades and market activity reported to Platts prior to the 4:30 pm London market close and reflect prevailing market value at the time of publication. Monthly averages are also published.
The assessments follow the Platts UK publishing calendar and will appear on the fixed pages PAA0214 and PAA0218 in Platts Protein Daily and on Energy Core.
