Platts defines cargo sizes for Turkish polymer assessments

Platts, a part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has introduced a maximum and minimum cargo size for its CFR Turkey polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and polyvinyl chloride spot assessment specifications, effective April 19, 2023, to better reflect standard market practices.

Platts has introduced a minimum volume of 100 mt and a maximum volume of 500 mt for the following assessments:

Platts currently does not observe a price difference for cargoes within this size range. Pricing information for other cargo sizes may be used for assessment purposes, subject to normalization.

Platts first proposed this change in a note published Feb. 22.
