Platts proposes to shift 80kt Vancouver-China assessment to Houston-only publishing schedule June 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to move its dirty tanker 80kt Vancouver-China freight rate assessment to a Houston-only publishing schedule, effective June 1, 2026.

Platts recognizes that the route is traded out of both the Americas and Asia regions; however, in the occurrence of a holiday in Asia, trading responsibility shifts solely to the Americas. This proposed change is intended to align the publishing schedule more closely with observed market activity.

The assessment currently follows both a Singapore and Houston publishing schedule as previously stated in the launch note Feb. 2: https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/020226-platts-launches-aframax-80000-mt-vancouver-china-tanker-freight-assessment-feb-2

The impacted assessments read as follows:

Symbol Description
TVBCA00 Dirty Vancouver-China Aframax 80kt Lumpsum
TVBCB00 Dirty Vancouver-China Aframax 80kt $/mt
TVBCA03 Dirty Vancouver-China Aframax 80kt Lumpsum MAvg
TVBCB03 Dirty Vancouver-China Aframax 80kt $/mt MAvg

The global publishing and holiday schedule can be found here https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/holiday.

The above assessments are published in the Platts Dirty Tankerwire, Platts Dirty Tankerwire Monthly and on Platts Shipping Alert and Platts Tanker Alert pages SHP2430, SHP2431, PGT1962 and PGT1963.
