SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes FD NWE post-consumer PET bottle bale assessment

S&P Global Platts proposes launching an FD NWE post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate bottle bale spot price assessment in light of market demand and effective June 5, 2019. Platts proposes launching this new assessment to better capture the full recycling loop in the PET market. The assessment would complement the existing FD NWE R-PET flake and FD NWE R-PET food grade pellet assessments. The weekly assessment would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Wednesday London time and reflect material with a minimum 80% colorless PET content in minimum 18 mt parcels for delivery in Northwest Europe, excluding France, within 3-30 days from the date of publication. The proposed Northwest Europe post-consumer PET bottle bale assessment would be published on the Platts real-time Petrochemical Alert page PCA 506, in Polymerscan, Platts Market Center and Platts Market Data. Platts invites all stakeholders and interested parties to engage in the feedback process. The feedback period will conclude on April 26, 2019.
