Platts to launch weekly CFR Egypt and CFR West Africa PVC spot price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch new weekly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) spot assessments for the Egyptian and West African markets on a cost and freight basis, effective May 6.

The new assessments will provide transparency to African PVC markets and reflect growing import activity, while complementing Platts' existing suite of European and Turkish PVC assessments.

Details of the new assessments are as follows:

The assessments will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4.30 pm Wednesday London time, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.

The weekly assessments will appear in Polymerscan, on S&P Global Energy Core and on fixed pages PCA 260 and PCA 239, and will be published on Wednesday, alongside a weekly commentary.
