Platts to update certain ICE NGX indices published in Canadian Gas Price Reporter
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will update the names of all ICE NGX natural gas indices published in Canadian Gas Price Reporter (CGPR) that currently reference Spectra Energy and Union Gas to instead reference Enbridge.
These changes are being made in parallel with updates announced by ICE NGX on March 20, linked here.
While the ICE NGX updates will go into effect at the end of the day on April 17, Platts will implement the index name updates on May 11. The existing index names and updated index names are shown below:

The names of all trade dates, flow dates, deal counts and other values associated with the above-listed indices will also be updated. Updates will apply to the index names only; prices and symbols will not be affected. Please note that the May 2026 publication of the monthly Canadian Gas Price Reporter (CGPR) will include the existing index names, and the updated index names will be published starting with the June 1, 2026, publication of the monthly Canadian Gas Price Reporter.
