Platts launches eight new US beef assessments, March 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched eight new daily US beef assessments effective March 2, 2026.

These new assessments complement Platts existing "field to fork" coverage of US protein and animal feed, which includes 85CL Beef CIF US, 90CL Beef CIF US and 95CL Beef CIF US , while providing increased transparency to the global beef market.

The specifications for the new price assessments are as follows:

The eight new assessments are based on bids, offers, trades and market activity reported to Platts before 13:30 Houston time and reflect the prevailing market value at the time of close. The assessments will follow the Platts US publishing calendar.

Platts will also be launching new symbols for the existing 85CL, 90CL and 95CL Beef CIF US prices assessments, on a $/lb basis. The new symbols are as follows:

Existing CIF US price assessments (ATALB00, ATALG00 and ATALH00) on a $/mt basis are calculated values against the new $/lb price assessments.
