Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a weekly caustic soda domestic China ex-works price assessment in dry metric ton (dmt), effective Feb. 3.
The new assessment is derived from Platts' existing weekly caustic soda domestic China ex-works assessment in liquid mt (lmt). Price indications for 32% caustic soda in lmt will be converted to dmt using the formula dmt = lmt/0.32.
The assessment is published on Tuesday in Solventswire and on Platts Core, under the following symbols:
| Symbol | Description |
| CSDCY04 | Caustic Soda Domestic China ex-works CNY/dmt Wkly |
| CSDCY03 | Caustic Soda Domestic China ex-works CNY/dmt Mavg |
The assessment reflects the value as of 4:30 pm Singapore time on Tuesday and follows the Singapore publishing schedule. When a Singapore public holiday falls on the planned publishing day, the assessment is published the day before the public holiday.
The launch follows a decision note published Jan.6, available here .
