Electric Power, Energy Transition, Renewables
February 02, 2026
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a daily North American series of Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) price assessments, effective Feb. 2, 2026.
This series focuses on PPA prices for physical and virtual term contracts for electricity power generated from wind and solar projects across multiple hubs in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) for short-term and long-term contract tenures.
The published value reflects virtual PPAs, financially settled, as the basis. Platts will normalize all PPA data to this standard for assessment purposes.
The new assessments are listed below:
| Description | Symbol |
| ERCOT North Hub Solar Long-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CEMPF00 |
| ERCOT North Hub Solar Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPF00 |
| ERCOT North Hub Wind Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPG00 |
| ERCOT South Hub Solar Long-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CEMPH00 |
| ERCOT South Hub Solar Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPH00 |
| ERCOT South Hub Wind Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPI00 |
| ERCOT West Hub Solar Long-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CEMPJ00 |
| ERCOT West Hub Solar Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPJ00 |
| ERCOT West Hub Wind Short-Term As-Generated PPA Index | CESPK00 |
Platts defines short-term as PPAs for a tenure of 12-60 months, and long-term tenure as 120 months or longer.
The price assessments also reflect PPA projects for wind and solar technology with an electricity generation capacity in the range of 100-500 megawatts (MW), normalized to 200 MW, and contracted on an as-generated basis with a timestamp of 1330 CT. These assessments are published in US dollars/mega-watt hour (MWh), and follow the US holiday calendar.
Platts considers bids, offers and trades for PPAs using these specifications, including information from our partner REsurety and its CleanTrade platform.
Platts will also publish monthly averages for the assessments listed above. The daily assessments are found on the alert page CLE0006, and the monthly averages are available on CLE0007.
Further information about the assessments, how to participate in the assessment process, or how to provide feedback can be found in the FAQ page, available here.
