Platts revises Carthage Hub natural gas index methodology

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has revised the Carthage Hub daily natural gas index methodology, effective with day-ahead trading on Jan. 30 for delivery Feb. 1-2.

The Carthage Hub methodology definition has been changed to the following:

Deliveries at the Carthage Hub in Panola County, Texas. Includes deliveries into Gulf South Pipeline, Gulf Run Transmission, Houston Pipeline, Kinder Morgan Tejas, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Atmos Pipeline, Texas Gas Transmission, Enable Gas Transmission, EasTrans, Enterprise Texas Intrastate System, and the M6 Midstream system, including the Clarity and Double D pipelines. Deliveries from the Carthage plant tailgate are also included.

Please note that this revised definition includes deliveries to the M6 Midstream pipeline system and does not include deliveries to Mississippi River Gas Transmission.

These changes to the Carthage Hub methodology follow a decision Subscriber Note published Jan. 6.
