S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue its weekly aluminum CIF Busan assessment on May 1, 2019 due to low liquidity in the seaborne spot market.
Platts has observed a decrease in activity in the seaborne aluminum CIF Busan market in the past year. The proposal comes on the back of initial market feedback that the liquidity of the assessment is significantly below its previous volumes and thus wants to invite wider market feedback on the liquidity and feasibility of the MKP CIF Busan assessment.
Platts is seeking feedback on this proposal by February 14, 2019.
The assessment S&P Global Platts is proposing to discontinue carry the codes of MMAMX00 (weekly) and MMAMX03 (monthly average).
The last assessment day would be Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
Please send all questions and feedback to joanna.lim@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal by February 14, 2019.
