Platts to include MMA coverage, add daily methanol and acrylates assessments in Solventswire

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will make several changes to its Solventswire publication, starting from Feb. 3.

As part of the change, Platts will add daily methanol and acrylates price assessments to the publication, to give subscribers greater granularity on price movements throughout the week.

Platts will also include its MMA coverage (spot price assessments, market commentaries/rationales) in the Solventswire, to complement the related acrylic monomers and the feedstock methanol and acetone content already published in this PDF report.

Platts will move the publishing day of its weekly MMA commentaries/rationales for Europe, US and Asia from Wednesday to Tuesday. This content will be republished in Polymerscan on Wednesdays, with updates, where necessary.

There will be no change in the underlying methodology or frequency of the spot price assessments or weekly/monthly averages.

The specific changes will be:

Europe MMA & PMMA

• The Tuesday's instance of the daily MMA price assessments will be published in Solventswire, and will be accompanied by the Europe MMA market commentary.
• The weekly MMA commentary will be moved from Wednesday to Tuesday and be republished in Wednesday's Polymerscan.
• The Wednesday's instance of the daily MMA price assessments will continue to be published in Polymerscan.
• The weekly Europe PMMA market commentary and price assessments will continue to be published each Wednesday and will appear in Polymerscan with no changes.

Asia MMA & PMMA

• The Tuesday instance of the daily MMA price assessments will be published in Solventswire and will be accompanied by the Asia MMA/PMMA market commentary and the Tuesday's MMA rationale.
• The weekly MMA/PMMA commentary will be moved from Wednesday to Tuesday and will be republished in Wednesday's Polymerscan.
• The Wednesday's instance of MMA rationale will continue to be published in Polymerscan.
• The Wednesday PMMA rationale will continue to be published in Polymerscan.
• The daily Asia PMMA price assessments will continue to appear in Polymerscan with no changes.

US MMA & PMMA

• The Tuesday's instance of the daily MMA price assessment will be published in Solventswire and will be accompanied by the US MMA/PMMA market commentary.
• The weekly MMA/PMMA commentary will be moved from Wednesday to Tuesday and will be republished in Wednesday's Polymerscan, with necessary updates to the integrated rationale.
• The weekly US PMMA price assessment will continue to be published each Wednesday and will appear in Polymerscan with no changes.

Weekly MMA & PMMA averages:

Weekly MMA and PMMA average calculations will remain unchanged across the regions and will continue to be published on Wednesday and appear in Polymerscan.

In case of a holiday in any of the publication regions, Platts will inform subscribers of the changes to the publication via the Platts Publication schedule or/and through a subscriber note.
