Platts to launch Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond daily and monthly natural gas index

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch a daily and monthly Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond natural gas index for February 2026 gas trading.

Month-ahead Top of Diamond transactions executed during February bidweek (Jan. 26-28) for delivery Feb. 1-28 will be included in the monthly Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond index, and day-ahead transactions executed on Jan. 30 for delivery Feb. 1-2 will be included in the daily Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond index.

The methodology for Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond will be defined as follows: "Deliveries into Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line at the Chapin, Puddlefield, and Carverton receipt interconnects in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Deliveries into Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line elsewhere on the Leidy Line are not included."

The symbol for the daily Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond index will be IGBSS00, and the symbol for the monthly Transco, Leidy Top of Diamond index will be IGBSS03.

This decision follows a Jan. 1 methodology change that excluded Top of Diamond trades from the Transco, Leidy Line receipts daily and monthly index. Market feedback gathered during that project's consultation and decision stages supported the launch of a standalone Top of Diamond index to maintain price transparency for these specific receipt points.
