Chemicals, Solvents & Intermediates
January 13, 2026
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, wishes to clarify that the unit of measurement for its caustic soda domestic China ex-works assessments is liquid metric ton (lmt).
The assessments are published in Solventswire, Metals Daily and MetalsWeek, on the Platts Petrochemical Alert pages PCA0534, PMA0050 and PMA0052, the Platts Non Ferrous Metals Alert pages MTL0050 and MTL0052 and in the Platts price database under the following codes:
| AAXDE00 | Domestic China ex-works CNY/lmt Wkly |
| AAXDE03 | Domestic China ex-works CNY/lmt MAvg |
This clarification specifically refers to the assessments of caustic soda, the unit of measurement of which has been previously incorrectly stated in the Asia-Pacific Chemicals specifications guide.
