Platts proposes to update UCO China domestic assessments specifications, effective Feb. 16

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to update the payment terms of its Used Cooking Oil (UCO) China domestic assessments, effective Feb. 16, 2026.

Platts publishes daily UCO China domestic assessments on a Delivered At Place (DAP) basis in North, East and South China regions. The North China UCO DAP assessment reflects cargoes with payment terms up to 14 days after the transfer of the products. The East China and South China UCO DAP assessments reflect cargoes with prepayment terms before the transfer of the products.

Platts has observed that the biodiesel plants in these regions typically adhere to a credit period of up to 7 days after the transfer of the UCO , through telegraphic transfer or cash.

Under this proposal, Platts would change the payment specifications of below assessments to reflect the prevailing market practice:

The payment specifications of the $/mt conversions of the above symbols would also be updated under the proposed change.

The other specifications of UCO China domestic assessments would remain unchanged.

Platts launched the UCO South and East China domestic assessments on July 1, 2025.

Platts launched the North China domestic UCO daily assessments on Oct. 1, 2024, and updated the incoterms and qualities on July 1, 2025.

The assessments are published on Platts Biofuels Alert pages PBF 2310, 2311 and 2312, in daily Platts Biofuelscan, Weekly Biomass-Based Diesel Report and in the Platts price database.
