Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has amended the basket of ports used for its clean Medium Range tanker West Coast India to South Africa 35kt assessment, effective Jan. 2.
In the revised basket of ports for the Worldscale percentage assessment and its corresponding price in $/mt, the West Coast India port of New Mangalore has replaced the port of Vadinar.
Clean petroleum product shipments from New Mangalore to South Africa have averaged nearly 95,000 mt per month year-to-date in 2025, compared with an average of approximately 61,000 mt per month in 2024 and 68,000 mt per month in 2023, according to S&P Global Commodities at Sea.
The updated basket of load and discharge ports for the West Coast India to South Africa 35kt ( TCAIV04) route is as follows:
* Jamnagar to Durban F/B Mossel Bay
* New Mangalore to Durban F/B Mossel Bay
