Oil product inventories at Fujairah in the UAE dropped 7.8% in the week ended Oct. 5 after falling 20% the previous week, according to Fujairah Oil Industry Zone data published Oct. 7.

The total inventory declined to 7.574 million barrels, a three-week low, with light distillates such as gasoline and naphtha down 65% to a record low of 559,000 barrels, according to the data.

Heavy distillates used as ship fuel and for power generation rose 21% to 4.723 million barrels and middle distillates, such as jet fuel and diesel, slipped 15% to 2.292 million barrels.

The Platts-assessed marine fuel 0.5% sulfur delivered Fujairah rose 0.7% on Oct. 6 to $980/metric ton, extending gains from the recent low of $940/mt on Sept. 30. Platts is part of S&P Global Energy.

The Platts-assessed bunker fuel oil 380 CST delivered Fujairah also rose 0.7% to $700/mt on Oct. 6, extending gains from the recent low of $658/mt on Sept. 30.
