ADNOC top seller for second straight month
Participants in the Asian naphtha physical Platts Market on Close assessment process completed trades totaling 250,000 metric tons of product deliverable in August, according to operational trade performance data compiled by Platts, part of S&P Global Energy.
The volume was up 43% month over month but down 23% year over year, according to Platts data.
Platts assesses the value of naphtha for delivery on a CFR Japan basis across three half-month cycles, meaning that product for delivery in August reflects trades reported from the second half of May through the first half of July.
A total of 10 trades were reported for August delivery, up by three from the month-ago delivery period, with ADNOC Global Trading Asia emerging as the largest seller for a second consecutive month at 175,000 mt. Glencore, Gunvor, TotalEnergies and Vitol were all tied on the buy side with two cargoes, or 50,000 mt each, while Equinor and Trafigura bought one cargo each, according to the data.
