Russia, South Korea, US supply 485,000 mt diesel/gasoil
Dangote exports 66,000 mt of diesel/gasoil so far in April
April imports of diesel and gasoil into West Africa so far have reached 1.1 million mt, while 66,000 mt of diesel/gasoil have been exported from Nigeria's Dangote refinery in April so far, data from S&P Global Commodities at Sea showed April 15.
So far in April, 1.1 million mt of diesel/gasoil arrived in West Africa, down from the total 1.348 million mt in March, CAS data showed April 15.
The largest non-African exporters have been Russia, South Korea and the US, which supplied a combined 485,000 mt so far this month.
In March, imports of diesel and gasoil into West Africa from Russia reached 330,000 mt, down from 456,000 mt in February. So far in April, product from Russia to West Africa has reached 160,000 mt.
Russia has become one of the main providers of diesel and gasoil to West Africa after the EU imposed a ban on Russian oil product imports in February 2023. Russia supplied 3.4 million mt to West Africa in 2025, and around 1.2 million mt so far in 2026.
So far this month, no product from India -- a major exporter of diesel/gasoil to WAF in recent months --, has been exported to West Africa. India exported 583,000 mt in March and 517,000 mt to West Africa in February, according to CAS data.
Imports from the US in April to West Africa has so far reached 122,000 mt, the highest seen since November 2024, when 141,000 mt of product was imported from the US.
On the export side, 66,000 mt of diesel/gasoil was exported from the Dangote refinery in April so far, all of which is currently scheduled to discharge in France.
In March, a total of 485,000 mt of product was exported from Dangote refinery, a record high, according to CAS data.
Looking at jet fuel exports, so far in April, Dangote exported 178,000 mt of jet fuel/kerosene, down from its March total exports of 276,000 mt. Of these exports in April, 88,000 mt has been loaded for France, and 46,000 mt loaded for the Netherlands, according to CAS data.
