Infographic: India on track to reach record 100 MMt met coal demand in 2024

India’s metallurgical coal demand is set to reach a record 100 million metric tons in 2024, posting a significant milestone for the industry. India surpassed China and Japan as the largest seaborne met coal importer some years back, and currently is expected to break last year’s all-time high record of 74 MMt, according to S&P Global Commodity Insights estimates.
