India's Ambuja Cement saw lower sales volumes in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 (April-March) and is maintaining a cautious demand outlook for the rest of the year, the company said in a statement July 28.

The Adani Group-owned cement producer posted cement sales volumes of 17.1 million metric tons in the April-June quarter, down 7% year over year and 14% quarter over quarter.

The company's revenue fell 7.7% year over year to Rupees 95 billion ($1.1 billion), while EBITDA declined 19% to Rupees 15.9 billion, it said.

Despite the weaker quarter, Ambuja highlighted operational improvements, with its clinker factor declining to 63.7%, suggesting greater use of blended cement products and supplementary cementitious materials.

The company said the clinker factor improved by 2.1 percentage points from the year-ago period.
