HIGHLIGHTS
H1 March trade volume soars over 300% month on month
Glencore and Vitol lead as top buyer and seller
Participants in the Platts APAC LNG cargo Market on Close assessment process concluded deliveries of the 56.1 TBtu traded in the first half of March 2026, according to operational trade performance data compiled by Platts, part of S&P Global Energy.
Trading activity in the Asia LNG physical MOC process surged in the first half of March for April delivery cargoes into the Japan-Korea-Taiwan-China region, climbing 318.56% month over month and up 231.95% year over year, Platts data showed.
Over the H1 March period, Glencore and Vitol were the largest buyer and seller, respectively, with a total of 76 TBtu traded by the two MOC participants.
Platts closely monitors the performance of trades reported through the MOC process as part of its ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
Platts reviewed various aspects of performance, including the timely completion of deliveries and other published parameters of the trades.
The table below shows performance tracking details of all trades reported through the APAC LNG cargo MOC process in the first half of March 2026.
