Cement deliveries in Morocco rise 16.4% in October
Total shipments over January-October increase on year
Infrastructure projects drive cement demand growth
Cement deliveries from the members of Morocco's Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers rose 16.4% year over year to 1.5 million metric tons in October, according to data released by the industry body Nov. 10.
APC members -- Asment Temara, Ciments de l'Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc -- saw total shipments of 12.4 million mt over January-October, up from 11 million mt a year earlier.
The ready-mixed concrete sector also saw significant growth, with October deliveries at 403,254 mt, a 36.38% increase from 295,684 mt the previous year.
Infrastructure projects accounted for 107,638 mt of cement deliveries in October, 28.62% higher than the 83,685 mt delivered in the same month the previous year, the APC data showed. Deliveries to the construction sector rose 12.95% to 45,401 mt.
