3,500 mt of EvoZero cement shipped from Norway to Yorkshire
Padeswood Cement Works in Wales to produce EvoZero by 2029
German cement producer Heidelberg Materials has delivered its first low-carbon cement, EvoZero, to the UK from its Brevik plant in Norway, the company said Nov. 5.
The company delivered around 3,500 metric tons of the product by sea to the Port of Goole in East Riding of Yorkshire, in the northeast of England.
The cement is being stored in silos and is available for use in construction projects across the UK, according to the statement.
This delivery to the UK arrives weeks after the company announced the first delivery of its net-zero carbon cement to customers across Europe.
The company said its next operation will take place at its Padeswood Cement Works in North Wales.
It also noted that the government made a final investment decision in September 2025, and EvoZero will be produced at the site starting in 2029.
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, last assessed CEMDEX Turkey at $54/mt FOB on Oct. 30.
