Company reports 18% rise in sales volumes

Average sales prices of cement at $48/mt

Kazakhstan's Steppe Cement reported an 18% increase in sales volume and improved cement prices in the first half of 2025, the company said in a statement on Sept. 15. The company capitalized on favorable weather conditions, general economic growth, infrastructure projects and population expansion in Kazakhstan.

The company sold 850,424 metric tons of cement in the first six months of 2025, compared with 719,294 mt during the same period last year.

"The average sales price of cement delivered for the company was $48 per mt (KZT24,361 per tonne), the same in USD as in 2024," the company said.

Steppe's clinker production volume increased by 4% in H1 and continued to increase in the third quarter of 2025, with a full-year target growth of 8%.

"The company is exploring the opportunities to further increase clinker production in Line 6 as well as other options to optimise our assets," Steppe Cement said.

Kazakhstan's cement exports in H1 declined to 0.4 million mt compared with 0.45 million mt in the same period of 2024, while imports jumped, according to the company's statement.

"A significant build-up of capacity in Uzbekistan has led to lower prices, resulting in reduced exports to Uzbekistan and increased imports into South Kazakhstan," the company said.

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, assessed the weekly CEMDEX Turkey price, reflecting Ordinary Portland Cement CEM I 42.5R (bulk) at $56.50/mt FOB Sept. 11.
