In 2024, the global solar tracker market experienced substantial growth, with shipments reaching 112 GW, a 19% increase from 94 GW in 2023.

This expansion was primarily driven by significant increases in shipments to India and Saudi Arabia, while the rest of the world saw relatively flat growth.

Saudi Arabia continues to lead in tracker uptake, fueled by ambitious utility-scale demand, which is expected to further ramp up shipments in the coming years.

The Indian market also showed promising growth, with rising confidence in tracker technology supported by collaborations between major suppliers and local engineering, procurement, and construction firms. India's proximity to the equator and low labor costs also enhance its attractiveness for tracker installations.

Solar cleaning robots have become essential for solar tracker installations, particularly as utility-scale segments expand into sandy terrains in Saudi Arabia and parts of India. Technology improvements have reduced the amount of water that cleaning robots use and increased cleaning distances, driving the market forward.

One-in-portrait (1P) trackers dominated the market in 2024, accounting for 93% of shipments, due to their versatility and stability in windy conditions, despite commanding a higher price per watt.

Europe remains the key market for two-in-portrait (2P) trackers due to tighter land constraints and agrivoltaics requirements, for which 2P trackers are more suited.
