FUJAIRAH DATA: Oil product stocks rise 23% led by heavy distillates

Oil product inventories at Fujairah in the UAE rose 23% in the week ended Aug. 17, led by a 49% gain in heavy distillates, according to Fujairah Oil Industry Zone data published Aug. 19.
The total inventory rose to 7.752 million barrels, the highest since July 20, according to the data compiled by Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, since 2017.
Heavy distillates used for power generation and as ship fuel jumped 49% to 5.35 million barrels, also the highest since July 20. Ship fuel sales at the Port of Fujairah more than doubled in July from June, marking the first increase since January, according to port data published Aug. 15.
Middle distillate stocks, such as jet fuel and diesel, declined 1.7% over the latest week to 1.471 million barrels, the lowest since July 27, the FOIZ data showed.
Light distillate stocks, such as gasoline and naphtha, dropped 23% to a record low of 931,000 barrels, falling below 1 million barrels for the first time, the data showed.
The Platts-assessed marine fuel oil 0.5% sulfur delivered Fujairah was up 0.4% day over day at $818/metric ton Aug. 18, the highest since July 24.
The Platts-assessed high-sulfur fuel oil delivered Fujairah rose 2.4% over the same period to $618/mt on Aug. 18, also the highest since July 24.
Platts assessed the Fujairah-delivered 0.5%S marine fuel bunker premium over the benchmark FOB Singapore marine fuel 0.5% sulfur cargo value at $65.71/mt on Aug. 18, 12% higher than a week earlier.
