He is also responsible for US West Coast (PADD 5) downstream research and analysis. His expertise includes assisting clients with operational performance improvement, market and configuration studies, as well as strategic initiatives. He has been a speaker and advisor to the main congresses and conferences in the region. Prior to joining S&P Global, he was a senior executive consultant at KBC Advanced Technologies Inc., performing energy efficiency projects, on-site technical support for oil refineries and business development in Latin America.
Felipe holds a Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Master of Science from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is based in Los Angeles, California, US, and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

Senior Vice President, Head of Geopolitics and International Affairs
Carlos Pascual leads the integration of geopolitics, energy, and markets for S&P Global Energy. He works with clients globally on addressing the geopolitical challenges of energy transition, security and competitiveness -- and the implications for energy justice. Mr. Pascual also leads the coordination of S&P Global Energy businesses in Latin America.
Mr. Pascual was previously US Ambassador to both Mexico and Ukraine and was Special Assistant to the US president for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia on the National Security Council. As the former US Energy Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the State Department, Mr. Pascual established and directed the Energy Resources Bureau and served as the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State on energy issues.
Earlier, Mr. Pascual created the position of Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization in the State Department, establishing the first civilian response capacity to conflicts. Mr. Pascual is a distinguished fellow at the Atlantic Council and was a resident fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Daniel Pratt is vice president and head of the E&P at S&P Global Energy.
Daniel Pratt is Senior Vice President leading the Global Upstream Solutions business within S&P Global Energy. Dan has over 25 years of experience in the Upstream sector with leadership positions across multiple capabilities. Today, Dan leads a global team focused on delivering research, data, and software to support decision making within Oil & Gas markets, including operators, service companies, investors, and capital providers. Dan spearheads new product development and innovation, integrating advanced technology and data science into workflows and product offerings. His efforts generate critical insights and thought leadership, strengthening client relationships and supporting S&P Global’s sales and consulting initiatives.
Daniel’s previous experience includes equity analysis at John S. Herold and serving as Director of Oil & Gas Research at Ticonderoga Securities, where he covered oil and gas equities and published research for institutional investors. He also led the Upstream Companies & Transactions capability within IHS Markit. Daniel is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute, and a member of the Stamford CFA Society. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.

Patricia Barreto is a Senior Analyst in the Metals and Mining Research Team at S&P Global Energy, based in São Paulo. She specializes in the fundamental analysis of supply and demand to develop price outlooks for base metals markets.
Prior to joining S&P Global, she spent over eight years at zinc producer Nexa Resources SA, where she mostly acted as a zinc and copper analyst. Her expertise includes price forecasting, comprehensive supply and demand analysis, and commercial intelligence. Patricia holds a BE in Materials Engineering from the Federal University of ABC in Brazil.

Fellipe leads analysis of how changes in the automotive ecosystem translate into changes in fuel consumption of the light vehicle fleet, which includes insights on the impacts from alternative powertrain configurations, telecommuting, mobility services, and vehicle automation. In addition, he manages all analysis on the effects of decarbonization trends, mobility policy, and regulations on fuel consumption. Fellipe co-authors the Pulse of Change, a monthly report that tracks and assesses the electric evolution of the light vehicle fleet, and other reports relating to vehicle electrification, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and mobility-related topics that influence total light vehicle miles traveled.
Previously, Fellipe led the light vehicle fuel demand analysis of the ground-breaking study, "Reinventing the Wheel (RTW): The future of cars, oil, chemicals, and electric power," a joint effort by the energy, automotive, and chemical teams at IHS Markit(now part of S&P Global). More than 30 companies in the automotive, energy and chemical industries participated in this year-long effort. RTW is now an ongoing service (Mobility and Energy Future) providing insight and context for how developing mobility trends impact the energy, automotive, and chemical industries.
Fellipe holds a Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He is fluent in English and Portuguese, and conversational in Spanish.

Executive Director, Emissions and Low Carbon Pathways
His current work focuses on building analytical solutions for greenhouse gas emissions estimation across the energy and industrial value chains to support corporate decision making and climate risk analysis. Bob has worked with multi-national energy companies and investment banks to build analytical software and research products that support decision making in the energy industry. Prior to joining S&P Global he spent seven years at PFC Energy, leading consulting and research initiatives in the Upstream Practice. Bob has worked as a geologist on ExxonMobil's Chad Development Team, and with the US Department of Energy and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
He holds a BS and an MS from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Dan Thompson is a principal research analyst in the 451 Research technology research group within S&P Global Market Intelligence. He leads the Datacenter Services and Infrastructure team, which is charged with keeping tabs on the datacenter industry globally to better understand its trends and growth areas. His research includes analyses of datacenter providers, market size and supply/demand in key and emerging markets around the world. Dan also provides coverage of datacenter providers offering services beyond colocation, such as managed and cloud-type services.
Dan also provides research on the sustainability of the datacenter industry. Beyond just renewable energy purchasing and carbon offsetting, he has been investigating full life cycle emissions, including supply chain emissions, as well as efficiency gains and water usage.
Before joining S&P Global Market Intelligence, Dan spent 15 years as a practitioner in the IT industry, the last 10 years at a top managed/cloud service provider. Dan has worn many hats in the IT world, from systems administration to management, and was most recently an enterprise architect. In that role, he not only assisted in the launch of the company's security practice, but also created security-specific products and designed security into every solution launched to the customer base.
In addition to a good many IT industry certifications, Dan currently holds degrees in network security and forensics and information technology.

Emanuel focuses on cost, technology, and power policies for Latin America. Prior to joining S&P Global, Emanuel was with Siemens (Chemtech), where he was involved in conceptual and detailed engineering design for projects in the oil and gas industry, energy efficiency, electrical power quality for industrial facilities, and risk analysis for the downstream sector. He also held a post as business developer engineer responsible for business strategies in the downstream and power sector.
Emanuel holds a bachelor's degree from Federal University of Santa Catarina, did his postgraduate studies in engineering at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil, and holds a Master of Science from UFRJ.
