Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to launch new daily spot recycled acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (R-ABS) spot assessments, effective March 1, 2024, to provide transparency into the market.
Basis and Locations: Delivery duty paid Northwest Europe. Northwest Europe includes Germany, Benelux region, France and Switzerland. Pricing information from other regions may be taken into consideration for the assessment, subject to normalization.
Standard spot cargo size: Minimum 20 mt lots
Product Specifications:
* Grade: Injection grade pellets, used for industrial applications, such as load bearing parts, construction products and household applications casings. Pricing information about pellets for use in auto interior, food contact, medical and toy applications would not be reflected directly in the proposed assessment, but may be normalized to the standard, when appropriate.
* Content and feedstock: 100% recycled content. Pellets produced from post-consumer or post-industrial use material.
* Melt flow index (MFI): 20.0-30.0g/10 minutes tested at 220 degrees Celsius
* Density: 1.03-1.08g/cm3 and an izod value at or below 8 kJ/m2 tested at 23 degrees Celsius.
* Color: Platts would launch two assessments: 1) black and 2) light grey or whitish grey. Neither assessment would reflect dark grey or anthracite colored pellets.
Delivery: 3-30 days forward from the day of publication
Contract type: Spot.
Timestamp and publication calendar: 16.30 pm London time. The assessment would follow the London publication schedule.
