US DATA: EIA says 4-week average for US crude imports at lowest level since May 3

US imports of Canadian crude over the four weeks ending Oct. 18 averaged at their lowest level since TMX came online back in early May, Energy Information Administration data showed Oct. 23.

US imports of Canadian crude over the four-week period ending Oct. 18 averaged 3.639, down 48,000 b/d from the previous report. This is the lowest the four-week average has been since the four-week period ending May 3, when imports averaged 3.597 million b/d.

US imports of Canadian crude averaged 3.719 million b/d in the week ending Oct. 18, the EIA data showed.

The most recently reported imports were a 182,000 b/d increase from the previous week and a 332,000 b/d increase from the same period in 2023. Crude Imports from Canada remain near the year-to-date average of 3.769 million b/d.
