S&P Global Platts proposes to launch solar and wind Renewable Penetration Indices (RPI) for the US ISO New England, effective March 1, 2022.
The new indices would complement Platts existing RPI offering, which includes all major ISOs.
As part of the proposal, Platts would start publishing solar and wind RPIs for peak, off-peak and each hour of the day (1-24).
The new indices would be based on the same methodology as Platts existing RPIs, which can be found here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/PlattsContent/_assets/_files/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications/us_power_method.pdf.
The indices would be published daily in Megawatt Daily, Energy Trader, on Platts real-time fixed pages PEA 904, and AGP 2904, and in the Platts price database.
