Platts will change increments guideline for Asia LNG derivatives MOC

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will change the timing and increments guidelines for its Asia Market on Close derivatives assessment process, effective Nov. 17.

For the Asia LNG derivatives MOC, Platts will allow for counterparties to improve a maximum of 5 cents/MMBtu per 20 seconds for bids and offers submitted through the Platts Editorial Window, or eWindow, communication tool, and 5 cents/MMBtu per 30 seconds for bids and offers submitted through a Platts editor manually.

The maximum time allowed for participants to repeat a bid or offer for Asia LNG derivatives MOC following a trade will remain at 20 seconds.

The following table summarizes the change on eWindow:

Platts has established clearly defined timing and increment guidelines that apply when publishing bids and offers in the MOC process, in order to ensure an orderly and transparent price assessment process.

Guidelines for the publication of bids and offers in the MOC process are available in the Platts LNG Timing and Increment Guide, available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/plattscontent/_assets/_files/en/our-methodology/methodology-specifications/lngtiming.pdf .

Platts proposed the change in increment guideline through a proposal note on Oct. 1: https://www.spglobal.com/commodity-insights/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/100125-platts-proposes-to-change-increments-guideline-for-asia-lng-derivatives-moc
