Platts launches new daily M1, M2 methyl methacrylate DDP NWE assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched two new daily methyl methacrylate (MMA) DDP Northwest Europe spot assessments effective Oct. 1, 2025, in order to provide greater intermonth pricing transparency to the market.

The assessments were first proposed in a subscriber note on July 29, available here: Platts proposes new daily M1, M2 methyl methacrylate DDP NWE assessments.

A decision was then published as a subscriber note, Aug. 29 available here: Platts to launch new daily M1, M2 methyl methacrylate DDP NWE assessments Oct 1.

These assessments, expressed in Eur/mt, complement Platts existing assessment for MMA deliveries 3-30 days forward in Northwest Europe (CMMAE01), and mirror its terms and specifications.

The new assessments reflect 20-25 mt lots of T2 product with a minimum purity of 99.8%, maximum water content of 0.05% by weight, color APHA of maximum 10 Hazen, and an inhibitor of 10-20 ppm.

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized accordingly.

The assessments separately reflect deliveries within the current (M1) and next (M2) month. The assessments' delivery months roll to the next month three calendar days prior to the next month. For example, in November 2025, the M1 and M2 assessments will reflect material delivered in November and December, respectively. On Nov. 28, M1 will roll over to reflect December deliveries and M2 will reflect January 2026 deliveries.

The new assessments have a 16:30 London time stamp and follow the UK publishing schedule.

The European MMA price assessments can be found in the Platts Polymerscan and on Platts Connect, accompanied by a weekly commentary published on Wednesdays.
