Platts to launch new daily M1, M2 methyl methacrylate DDP NWE assessments Oct 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch two new daily methyl methacrylate (MMA) DDP Northwest Europe spot assessments effective Oct. 1, 2025, in order to provide greater intermonth pricing transparency to the market.

The assessments were first proposed in a subscriber note, July 29, available here: Platts proposes new daily M1, M2 methyl methacrylate DDP NWE assessments

These assessments, expressed in Eur/mt, will complement Platts existing assessment for MMA deliveries 3-30 days forward in Northwest Europe (CMMAE01) and will mirror its terms and specifications.

The proposed assessments will reflect 20-25 mt lots of T2 product with a minimum purity of 99.8%, maximum water content of 0.05% by weight, color APHA of maximum 10 Hazen, and an inhibitor of 10-20 ppm.

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized accordingly.

The assessments will separately reflect deliveries within the current (M1) and next (M2) months. The assessments' delivery months will roll to the next month three calendar days prior to the next month. For example, in November 2025, the M1 assessment would reflect material loading any time in November, and M2 in December. On Nov. 28, the M1 assessment would roll over to reflect MMA delivered in December and M2 in January 2026.

The new assessments will have a 16:30 London time stamp and will follow the UK publishing schedule.

The European MMA price assessments can be found in the Platts Polymerscan and on Platts Connect, accompanied by a weekly commentary published on Wednesdays.
