Platts launches new forex rates for its Brazil I-REC assessments Sept. 15
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched two new daily foreign exchange (forex) rates for its Brazil I-REC assessments, effective Sept. 15, 2025.
This follows a decision note published on Aug. 18.
The new BRL/USD forex assessment (BRLUA00) replaces USDRE00, and the new BRL/EUR assessment (BRLUB00) replaces CAEUR00.
The new forex assessments convert the underlying Brazil I-REC price assessments, which are published in BRL/MWh, into $/MWh and Eur/MWh, respectively.
The forex assessments have a 15:30 Mexico City timestamp and follow the Mexico City holiday calendar to align with the Brazil I-REC assessments.
