Platts consults market on its natural gas index methodology for Carthage Hub

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, invites feedback on the methodology for its daily price index for natural gas traded at Carthage Hub. The consultation will also consider if a new monthly index for the same location should be launched.

Platts encourages market participants and all interested parties to provide feedback during the consultation period with a focus on whether the existing Carthage Hub definition should be amended to encompass a wider range of pipeline flows at the hub.

The current Carthage Hub definition is as follows:

Carthage Hub (daily market only) Deliveries into Enable East, Gulf South Pipeline, Atmos Pipeline, Southern Natural Gas, Kinder Morgan Texas Pipelines, Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Texas Eastern Transmission and Texas Gas Transmission at the tailgate of the Carthage, Texas, processing plant in Panola County, Texas.
